Canyoning – Ravine Descents
Participants follow a river’s course along a ravine or gorge where the water is flowing, passing over obstacles eroded by the force of the current.
There are a range of descents of varying difficulty.
The origin of ravine descents could be caving but generally this activity combines swimming, caving and climbing techniques and can therefore be considered as a mixed sport because it combines activity on land and in water.

Water Trekking
Descending a river course where you can optionally jump and slide through water chutes.
The various stretches combine natural attractions such as straits with small waterfalls and rock shelters.
Unlike ravine descents, this activity doesn’t require the use of caving or climbing techniques.
A highly entertaining and fun activity!

Via Ferrata (Iron Way)
Via Ferrata or the “Iron Way” is a more or less difficult mountain hike where the most difficult sections provide steps or rungs and a safety cable.
Many of these paths are full of such supports due to their steepness and degree of difficulty.
Nowadays there are more via ferrata as a result of the boom in adventure sports and recreational companies, municipal governments and other institutions have realised their potential and have started to invest in them.
This has been particularly noticeable in Andorra, Aragon and also in Catalonia and, for this reason, via ferrata climbing is now an attractive and safe sport whose challenge and element of risk appeal to modern men and women stressed out by their commitments and busy lives.

Speleology
Speleology is defined as the study of underground caves, involving a knowledge of sciences such as geology, hydrology, biology, archaeology and topography, all coming together to achieve a common goal: to explore and learn about underground phenomena.
Speleology takes place in natural subterranean cavities such as chasms (deep crevices difficult to access because of their vertical or very steep walls) and caves, which are vast, deep cavities that are more or less horizontal. Both caves and chasms form channels in an underground network and their characteristics are determined by the solubility of the rock surrounding them. The accessible part of an underground network is called the speleological system.

Rock Climbing
Rock climbing consists of ascending vertical cliffs or very steep slopes using the arms and the legs to advance, with or without the help of equipment. A range of techniques are used to ascend or climb and descend or abseil down mountains and artificial rock walls.
Technique and strength are both important in rock climbing but obviously the better the technique, the less strength is required and the longer the distance that can be covered. A good sense of balance is also very important, ensuring every movement and position of the body is stable.

Hiking
This type of hiking consists of walking along paths and tracks.
These routes were often the old links between villages, towns or special places (hermitages, springs, lookout points, etc.), many of which still exist today and form part of a country’s cultural heritage.
Hiking along relatively level paths allows you to appreciate the mountain scenery, learn to distinguish different animal and plant species and also recognise the physical geography around you.

Ascents
When we elevate hiking to its extreme in terms of difficulty and our goal is to get to the top of a mountain, we call these hiking trips ascents.
In the case of extremely difficult ascents that require expert knowledge (e.g. how to use technical materials: ice axes, crampons and ropes, etc.) or techniques for climbing on rocks, ice or snow, as well as being in very good physical shape, this is called mountaineering.

Orienteering Circuits
Orienteering involves the following skills:
– Knowing your precise location.
– Choosing the right direction to reach a specific place.
Orienteering can be learned since it’s based on the application of different techniques using natural signs (sun, stars, vegetation) and artificial elements (map, compass, etc.).
With the help of a map and compass we therefore create a walking route that takes participants to hidden locations indicated by 6 to 8 markers (depending on the time available), each of them clearly marked on the map.
All participants must stamp their control cards every time they reach one of the markers, to prove they have been there.

Archery
Some date the origins of archery to about 25,000 years before the modern era.
As an amateur sport, archery has been popular for a very long time, especially in England.
Thousands of people now practice this sport all over the world. One of the reasons for such popularity is because there are many different types of archery that appeal to different people.
It can also be carried out by everyone, male and female, young and old.
From Olympic archery to forest circuits, as well as different kinds of bows and materials, archery is an exciting sport.
Offering relaxation, concentration, physical exercise and abstract thinking, this sport is the ideal complementary activity to carry out in the midst of nature.
